The 1975’s frontman Matty Healy has tied the knot with model Gabbriette Bechtel after three years together. The glamorous outdoor wedding took place on July 18 at Castillo del Lago, Madonna’s former L.A. estate in the Hollywood Hills.
In photos obtained by People, the couple were pictured at the altar. Video footage also showed the couple sharing a kiss after tying the knot.
Healy wore a classic black tuxedo, while Bechtel embraced her penchant for gothic fashion with a dramatic Victorian-coded drop waist gown with long sleeves. The billowing hoop skirt featured a shredded, shipwreck-esque tiered design that cascaded in a train behind her. She also wore a long tulle veil that trailed behind her. Her hair was styled in an elaborate half-up ‘do on the top of her head.
The pair welcomed a star-studded guest list, included singer Charli XCX and her husband George Daniel, who is Healy’s bandmate in The 1975, Anastasia Karanikolaou, Fai Khadra, Alex Consani, Devon Lee Carlson, Sydney Lynn Carlson, Tyrell Hampton, Alex O’Connor, and Quenlin Blackwell, per Just Jared.
Healy and Bechtel were first linked in 2023 and announced their engagement in 2024. Speaking to British Vogue that year, Bechtel revealed that the pair had moved into a new home in the Hollywood Hills. “When I have kids, it’s going to be: dinner every night—no phones—to celebrate the smaller things and recognise people’s happiness,” she said, describing their future plans. She added, “I love being in love. When I thought that I was in love before it was just me being a person of service to somebody else.”
Prior to his relationship with Bechtel, Healy was linked to singer Taylor Swift, who, incidentally, also tied the knot this month. The pair dated briefly in 2023, and Swift allegedly went on to use the relationship as inspiration for some of her music, including the song “But Daddy I Love Him.” She later described their breakup as a “rough time.”
