Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have been much the envy of Hollywood, with the two earning a reputation for being one of the most loved-up couples in the industry.
The pair, who both work in music, have been together for three years and recently tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara last September.
And though things seem peachy from the outside, life can sometimes get in the way of a plain sailing marriage. But if there’s one man willing to prove his undying love, it’s Benny Blanco.
Voyage of love
The record producer, 38, recently set sail across the Atlantic, taking on a several-day-long boat trip to see his wife. Benny, who is based in California, is scared of flying, so he chose to sacrifice several long days to reach his London, where Selena, 33 has been filming Only Murders in the Building since May.
The journey by boat typically takes between seven and 20 days, while a flight from LA to London takes around 10 hours.
On Thursday 16 July, Benny shared a TikTok video of himself on a boat in the middle of the ocean alongside the caption: "POV: ur traveling across the Atlantic in the Titanic to see ur wife bc ur scared of flying."
"The things you do for love," he added alongside the soundtrack to Sam Cooke's "Nothing Can Change This Love". Benny is making the voyage so he can arrive in time for Selena's 34th birthday on 22nd July.
In May, the Disney star offered a glimpse into her latest project, sharing a photograph alongside the caption "first week in London". She has since posted a number of pictures from the set.
Marking the distance between them, Selena took to Instagram on 10 June to share a series of loved-up snaps. "Distance means so little when someone means so much.... @itsbennyblanco mish you bb,” she wrote in the caption.
Benny's fear of flying
Benny has vocalised his fear of flying in the past. During an April 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he shared a story about him and Ed Sheeran watching Titanic whiletravelling by boat.“I don’t fly,” Blanco said.
“I took a boat to Europe. I literally take the Titanic to Europe. It’s the same boat — when you’re on the boat, like day three, they’re like, ‘This is where the Titanic sank.’ And you’re just in the middle of nowhere.”
The couple married on 27 September last year in an intimate ceremony at Sea Crest Nursery in Santa Barbara, California. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Paris Hilton, SZA, Camila Cabello, and Mark Ronson were among some of their star-studded guests.
