Joan Collins embraced 1980s glamour while vacationing in Saint-Tropez. On July 20, the actress showcased her Dynasty-coded resort wardrobe in a new Instagram carousel.
“This July is one of the hottest months ever in Saint Tropez but we’ve had a marvelous time in spite of it,” Collins wrote in the caption. Her slideshow featured multiple photos with her family and friends.
The 93-year-old soap opera icon modeled a white off-the-shoulder dress in one picture. Designed by one of Collins’s favorite designers, Mark Zunino, it featured dramatic ruffled sleeves printed with purple flowers.
In the following slide, she donned a halter-neck minidress, pairing it with a statement pendant necklace complete with a string of pearls. In both photos, Collins wore her golden brown hair in a retro-inspired bob with feathery layers and swoopy bangs.
Zunino’s friendship with Collins dates back to her Dynasty days. She famously played Alexis Carrington Colby on the long-running ABC series. Zunino met Collins while he was working in the show’s wardrobe department, and he’s since designed several looks for her.
“One of the reasons he’s successful is he knows how to cut for women with a bust,” Collins told the Los Angeles Times in 2016. “I think that Mark has always liked women with curves—with bodies.”
Last month, Collins and her longtime husband, Percy Gibson stepped out for Variety’s first-ever Power of Women event in London. The actress, who accepted the award for Icon of the Year, sparkled in a gold wrap top covered in hundreds of tiny sequins and equally impressive matching earrings. Gibson, meanwhile, let his wife’s look do the talking, opting for a simple navy suit.
“I discovered that to survive in this business and to thrive, you have to show which women are needed to reinvent themselves,” Collins said during her acceptance speech, per Variety. “We have to reinvent ourselves time and time again.”
