As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics in May, Miami Dolphins star linebacker Jordyn Brooks was actively seeking a contract extension. Brooks is coming off a strong second season at Miami, leading the NFL in tackles (183) and earning his first First-Team All-Pro selection. The 28-year-old enters the final year of his deal and is scheduled to earn a $7.815 million base salary, $8.375 million in cash, and a $10.86 million cap charge in 2026.
If the Dolphins and Brooks cannot reach a deal before training camp, he will likely play out the final year of his contract and test the open market next March.

According to Jordan Schultz, the Dolphins have re-signed Jordyn Brooks to a lucrative contract extension, a week before their first day of training camp, making him the league’s fifth-highest-paid off-ball linebacker. The deal is for three years and is worth $51.3 million ($17.1 million annually) with $35 million guaranteed. As a result, Brooks will be under contract through the 2029 season and will be 32 by the time his deal expires.
This is the third extension Miami has done this offseason. The team previously signedDe’Von Achane to a four-year, $64 million deal with $27.378 million guaranteed in May. Additionally, the front office rewarded Aaron Brewer with a three-year, $52.5 million deal with $31.75 million guaranteed in June.
