Miami's full rookie class shows how deep the Hurricanes' NFL pipeline has become

Miami's run to the national championship game ended one win short, but the roster's parting gift to the NFL was enormous. The Hurricanes had nine players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, which was Miami's biggest class since 2017.

Now, with Madden NFL 27 set to release on August 13, the first wave of rookie ratings is giving fans a look at how EA Sports views Miami's newest pros.

One quick note: some of these numbers are still emerging through leaks and the full rookie rollout wraps up before early access opens on August 6.

The First-Round Trio

Rueben Bain Jr. slipped to 15th overall over concerns about his arm length despite being one of the more disruptive players in the country. He's debuting at an 80 overall, which is the fourth-highest rating of any rookie in the entire game and the third-highest among defensive players, trailing only Cowboys safety Caleb Downs' 82.

Right behind him is Akheem Mesidor, the 22nd overall pick who joins Bain in the pass-rushing department, this time for the Chargers. He checks in at 79 overall.

Francis Mauigoa rounds out the trio at 78 overall. The Giants are moving him inside to right guard, where he's the presumptive Week 1 starter protecting Jaxson Dart on a fully guaranteed $31.4 million rookie deal.

The Rest of the Confirmed Group

Three more Hurricanes have overalls, all identical at 73: cornerback Keionte Scott (Buccaneers, joining Bain in Tampa), safety Jakobe Thomas (Vikings), and offensive tackle Markel Bell (Eagles).

Still Waiting On

Three more Hurricanes were drafted but have not gotten their Madden 27 overalls just yet. Carson Beck is the most interesting case of the group by far. Arizona took him in the third round, and he's now battling for reps behind Jacoby Brissett.

The other two are Day 3 offensive pieces. Anez Cooper, a sixth-round pick the Jets traded up to get, and CJ Daniels, also a sixth-rounder, landed with the Rams.

Miami also sent four players to camp as undrafted free agents this spring: center James Brockermeyer and receiver/returner Keelan Marion both landed with the Falcons, linebacker Wesley Bissainthe signed with the Chiefs, and defensive lineman David Blay joined the Patriots. None of the four have an individual Madden 27 rating yet.
