She had no idea what to do to get him to leave!

While trying to stay cool during a heatwave, Meg Luke opened her bedroom window, fully expecting she might end up with a spider or two inside since there wasn't a screen. What she definitely didn't expect was to find an owl perched on her windowsill, looking completely at home.

Be sure to turn on the sound because Meg's commentary makes the video even funnier. At first, the owl seems a little hesitant about crossing the threshold. But once he commits, he starts inspecting the bed before casually checking out the rest of the room like a prospective tenant touring a new apartment. The whole scene had viewers laughing and wondering the same thing: What would you do if you walked into your bedroom and found an owl acting like it owned the place?

What a cool story to tell! Meg has the ultimate icebreaker now: "You're never going to believe this, but one time an owl wandered into my bedroom!"

Viewers Couldn't Believe the Owl Made Himself Right at Home

Meg's video racked up more than 5 million views and over 14k comments, and people had a lot to say about her unexpected houseguest. @xara jagger spoke for all of us when she shared a screenshot of the owl (who looks like he's wearing pants, by the way) looking up at the light and said, "This is literally the cutest f*cking thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t cope!"

@PennieswithMinah received nearly 100k likes when she joked, "I get sh*tty flies, and you get Hedwig!?"

Commenter @Taeisha shared, "It's not even panicking, just having a look around and getting comfy!" Others noticed the owl was wearing a leg band, correctly guessing that he was someone's pet.

Meg later shared an update because everyone was wondering what happened, reassuring viewers that the owl made it home safe and sound. And yes, he really was a pet.
