Foster Puppy Who Is 'Powered by Smoochies' Comes Alive as Soon as Someone Holds Her

Whoever gets to adopt this dog is so lucky!

It's such a gift to be able to give a foster puppy the love and attention that they desperately need, especially when you get to see them respond to it in such sweet ways like this one did!

As soon as the foster mom picked her up, it was like she came alive. Not only was she wagging that tiny little tail, but she was so excited that it looked like she started swimming through the air. Look at those little paws go!

And then, she starts getting smooches, and that only makes her go even faster. She could easily be an Olympic air swimmer—if only there were such a thing.

This has become a bit of a habit for her, because she can be seen repeating this exact level of excited air swimming in other videos shared by her foster mom, and people just can't get enough.

There's no way this sweet little lady won't get snatched up quickly. Whoever adopts her forever will be so lucky!

Why Do Dogs 'Air Swim?'

When you see a dog "air swimming" like this one, they're actually acting out an instinct!

According to what dog trainer Sarah Wilson told Women's World, this is part of the response to water that they're born with, and it's also a survival skill. As Wilson said, "better to swim too soon than too late."

You'll most often notice your dog air swimming when being held over any type of water (including the bathtub), but sometimes, it happens when they're just being held up like the puppy in this video.

And then, when they do make it to the water, most dogs can actually "doggy paddle," which is yet another innate skill that they have to help them survive. It's their way of getting as close to walking in the water as they can, so it's not always their strong suit!

That's why it's so important to make sure your pup is in a life jacket if you're out with them on open water. You can't be too safe!
