Why isn't Caitlin Clark participating in the 3-point contest this year?

Indiana Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark won't be participating in Friday's 3-point contest during 2026 WNBA All-Star weekend in Chicago. Why is that?

Well, it's pretty simple, actually. She was invited to join in the contest but declined, per ESPN's Alexa Philippou, along with the New York Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu and the Minnesota Lynx's Kayla McBride.

So, that's it. Clark was asked, but she didn't feel up to it this year. She will play in the All-Star Game as a starter, though. No nefarious intentions or conspiracies afoot; she just didn't feel like playing in the 3-point contest.

However, the contestants that are participating should make it a fun event to watch!
