Both Olivia Miles and Natasha Howard were assessed a Flagrant 1 foul during the game.

The Minnesota Lynx secured a hard-earned 105-102 win against the Seattle Storm on Monday, thanks to Olivia Miles and Kayla McBride scoring over 30 points each.

Miles recorded 32 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the victory, while McBride exploded for 33 points on 9-of-16 shooting. Courtney Williams chipped in 21 points, on top of four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Natasha Howard struggled offensively for Minnesota and tallied just six points, but she anchored the team defensively, recording 12 rebounds and three steals.

Minnesota has now won six straight games, improving to 21-6 on the season to stay atop the WNBA standings.

Unfortunately, the game wasn't without issues for the Lynx. Both Miles and Howard were assessed flagrant fouls in the contest, which put them in line to pay a fine.

Miles was first hit with a Flagrant 1 foul against fellow WNBA rookie Flau'Jae Johnson with under a minute left in the second quarter. Johnson proceeded to sink all three of her free throws as a result of the call.

Howard, on the other hand, received her Flagrant 1 foul after committing a foul on Storm forward Katie Lou Samuelson with 44 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Samuelson drew the flagrant after a 3-pointer and eventually completed the four-point play.

According to the WNBA's rules, every flagrant point is punishable by a $500 fine. A Flagrant 1 foul accounts for one flagrant point, while a Flagrant 2 foul accounts for two flagrant points. That means Miles and Howard are due to pay a $500 fine each.

As such, both Miles and Howard need to be extra careful. The flagrant-point limit before a one-game suspension is four points. Moreover, if a player commits a Flagrant 2 foul after already accruing three flagrant points, they will be suspended for two games.

The Flagrant 1 foul was Miles' first of the season, while Howard now has two flagrant points.
