Whoopi Goldberg made the Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway, who is currently pregnant with her third child, cry while interviewing her on the ABC talk show The View on Monday morning.
Goldberg Makes Hathaway Cry
Goldberg, 70, brought Hathaway, 43, to tears while talking to her about her new movie The Odyssey. Hathaway was appearing on The View with her co-star Matt Damon, the 55 year-old actor who plays her character Penelope’s husband Odysseus, and the movie’s director Christopher Nolan, 55.
“Anne Hathaway, it’s been wonderful watching you,” Goldberg said. “It’s been wonderful watching you grow up. And you have just blossomed, turned into this fabulous actress. Girl!”
Hathaway reacted to this by tearing up and covering her face as she stammered, “No, don’t.”
“Yes, you need to know!” Goldberg fired back.
Hathaway responded by claiming that she would not be reacting this emotionally if she were not pregnant.
“Well, it’s something you need to know and remember,” Goldberg continued.
“I don’t even know what to say, thank you,” Hathaway gushed as she continued to cry. “You know how I feel about you.”
