Charlize Theron prefers to keep her family life out of the spotlight, but she made an exception for the premiere of her new movie when she brought her daughters along for the ride.
The star stepped out in New York to promote The Odyssey and August, 11, and Jackson, 14, were right there beside her.
While the girls didn't walk the red carpet with Charlize, they were photographed arriving at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater, where they put on a stylish display.
Charlize had her arm around her youngest child who wore a black, strapless dress, combat boots and knee-high white socks.
Jackson walked behind the pair and stood tall in heels and a chic off-the-shoulder gown.
Charlize's adoption story
Charlize adopted Jackson — who was assigned male at birth but has identified as a girl since the age of three — from her native country of South Africa in 2012, and August in 2015 in the United States.
She rarely shares photos of her children, but has spoken about her role as a mom in the past.
She's an outspoken advocate for solo motherhood, and has said that choosing to raise her two daughters on her own was "one of the healthiest choices" she has ever made.
During an appearance on New Heights, host Jason Kelce, who shares four daughters with wife Kylie Kelce, asked Charlize for parenting advice.
The challenges of parenting teens and pre-teens
She quipped: "They just turn into hormonal nightmares. Like, I'm getting my [expletive] handed to me from the moment that I walk into the house. And all these things are gonna serve them so well in life, but I might not make it."
Charlize continued: "Nature does this beautiful thing where you think you're in your worst place right now, so that you can cope with what you have. But from where I am, I can tell you, [Jason], that you're in a lovely place and they're still lovely and sweet.
"And then one day, you're gonna walk into their room around eleven, and they're gonna just be like, ‘Why did you turn the lights on?!'" the Oscar winner added.
Charlize also said that everyone assumes shes a brash, "tough" person, but the reality is very different.
"I'm a softy at heart," she previously revealed: "I just think people are always shocked when they hear, 'She cries at the drop of a hat,' or when they see me when I'm around my kids or when I talk about [them], and they're like, "Wait, I thought she was an [expletive]."
