Where Winds Meet launches its first expansion on July 23, which opens up the Hidden Mountain region. However, before you can explore the new region and attempt to fight its world bosses, Ironheart Centipede and Ci and Cuo, you have to unlock access to the region. The process is quite long, as the Hidden Mountain isn't meant to be a place that's easy to reach, making it the perfect location for the fabled Haven.
First, you want to be at max level in the base game before you head to the new area, so if you aren't at that point, you'll want to gather experience and level up beforehand.
Complete the Quest Yingying's Invitation and the Misty River
To start the expansion content, you need to look at your quest log and find the quest, "Yingying's Invitation." This has you go to an inn in Kaifeng, where you find Yingying on the second floor and join her for tea. Master Jin joins you, and you discuss Haven, a place that you and MasterJin are both trying to reach.
This leads to a section where you follow the wooden bird. There are a few enemies you'll come across, but you can sneak behind most of them and defeat them in one hit. If you don't sneak up on them, they still aren't tough.
At the end of this section, you join Big Feng. Then, you head to cross the river to Haven with him and Master Jin. Big Feng can repair the boat, but the river is covered in mist and when you try to cross it, you end up back at the shore.
At this point, you go around and speak with the NPCs around you for information about the mists. When you speak to the scholar, you have to go through a Gift of Gab challenge with him.
From here, you'll try to cross a few more times. You need to use Wind Sense to see whirlpools and use them as a guide, and eventually you'll get to an attempt that has the old scholar join you in a cutscene, which indicates that you got through the puzzle and will arrive on the other shore at the end.
Go Up the Cliffs
While you're technically in the Hidden Mountain region now, your journey isn't over yet. Upset that Heron left him behind, Feng runs forward on his own. Go after him, but make sure you speak with the Wayfarer on the way to get the map for this area.
Master Jin will part ways with you, but you'll build a flying contraption with Feng that gets you over the cliffs. Next, you have to go through a puzzle at Heron's command to prove yourselves, and Lightness Skills are not allowed here. The puzzle is done by using Celestial Seize on chain links, then using the planks found in the area to build a bridge between the chains so you can cross to the next platform.
Keep repeating this until you get to the part where Fend holds the platforms for you, where you connect one chain to the statue next to you and run across that chain. From here, you repeat the same process to get back to Feng, opening a path for him to join you.
At the end, there's one enemy you have to fight, and then Heron sends you up the mountain. This means that you've officially entered the main part of the Hidden Mountain region in Where Winds Meet.
