How to get to the Sunreach Sky Islands early in Palworld

Exploration is one of the best components of Palworld. While it has creature catching, epic boss battles, various base-building elements and so much more, it’s exploring this massive world that the developers have finely crafted that really sells the experience.

With the release of 1.0, we have received an incredible amount of more content, so much more than we know what to do with. With that said, one element is the Sunreach Sky Islands in the south of the map. This added biome features a more Asian aesthetic similar to what we got in the north, but with a lot more variety. While it’s supposed to be part of the endgame and pushing you into the World Tree, there’s a way to get here much earlier on.

The Legit Way

Technically, there is no real “legit” way to get to the Sunreach Sky Islands, because any way you’re able to get up there is perfectly fine as it is. Regardless, there is a way that clearly the developers meant for the player to get here, and that’s getting through the lengthy and ever exhausting storyline.

You will need to complete all the way up to the massive Feybreak Island found in the southwest of the map, where you will be met with yet another questline that was released all the way back in late 2024.

This main story quest brings us to yet another tower to get the Key Sphere of Wrath from Bjorn & Bastigor. The continent of Feybreak is a bit of an annoying one, but also one of the most impressive biomes in the entire game. It not only features an incredible amount of variety, but there’s a large amount of elevation to explore.

Regardless, in the far south of the island, you will find the tower. You don’t actually need to do the main story quest to fight Bjorn and Bastigor, but it’s a quick, albeit a bit annoying quest to get out of the way. Once you defeat the pair, you will be put at the top of the tower like normal, but this time, there is an added teleport you can interact with. Touching it will send you to the easternmost part of the Sunreach Sky Islands.

Getting To Sunreach Early

Now that we know how to get to the intended way to get to the Sunreach Sky Islands, let’s talk about how to get there by cheesing the system. The Sunreach Sky Islands are incredibly handy to have unlocked very early on simply because of the items you’re able to find throughout.

For example, you’ll be able to obtain Sol Sphere and Ancient Spheres from up here, ensuring that any Pal in the early, mid and even late game will be a breeze to catch, even when they’re napping. While you won’t be able to harvest much up here as you’ll need advanced tools, you’ll still be able to find these and maybe snag a couple of powerful Pals in the process.

For starters, you will need to have a flying Pal handy. Someone with a decent amount of stamina, so equip Passive Skills such as Fit as a Fiddle or Infinite Stamina. It’s unlikely you’ll have the latter this early on, but maybe down the line. This will require the Pal Surgery Table which is at level 38.

You’ll want to get someone such as Vanwyrm or Helzephyr due to their increased stamina. Next, you’ll want to fly underneath the Sunreach Sky Islands. They are located all the way to the south of the map.

Some of the islands are at lower elevation than others. Head to around -475, -1440 on the map. It’s hard to really show you because the map is covered in fog until you unlock the island’s viewpoint. Regardless, position yourself under this island and fly straight up. You likely won’t have enough stamina to reach the top edge, but you will be able to catch your breath along the rocks.

Most of the rocks are vertical, but you will be able to see a couple where you’ll be able to cheese it a bit as the hitbox is a little squarer. Because of this, you’ll be able to restore your entire stamina bar and fly the rest of the way up on the island. Be careful though. This portion of the map is the most dangerous as most enemies are aggressive, versus the eastern islands, which are more passive.

And with that, you should have access to the Sunreach Sky Islands now. Explore to your heart's content.
