Yes, you read that right. Wednesday will literally feel like the first day of fall! My forecast high temperature for Syracuse on Wednesday is 71 degrees. The normal high for September 22nd is also 71 degrees! In addition, there will likely be quite a bit of cloud coverage at times alongside the threat for passing sprinkles and/or scattered showers. While some breaks or intervals of sunshine will be possible, the air over our area will likely develop new cloud cover since the atmosphere will be primed for new clouds. Most of the day will only be in the 60s. With enough sunshine, the lower elevations have the best chance for hitting the lower 70s.

The temperatures for Wednesday high, Thursday's low, and Friday's low will not be far away from record levels!

The coldest high temperature on record for July 22nd is 68 degrees, set in 1912 for Syracuse. My forecast high for Wednesday is 71 degrees.

The record low temperature on record for July 23rd is 53 degrees, set in 1977 for Syracuse. My forecast low for Thursday is 53 degrees.

The record low temperature on record for July 24th is 46 degrees, set in 1985 for Syracuse. My forecast low for Friday is 52 degrees.

Temperatures will not be far away from these numbers for these time periods. It will also be a few degrees at least colder for the countryside locations.

Overall, despite chilly starts, Thursday and Friday look fantastic with plenty of sunshine alongside better afternoon temperatures versus Wednesday.

Even warmer weather is likely for this weekend with mostly dry weather. The best chance for a scattered shower or thunderstorm this weekend will be late in the day Sunday.
