FedEx has announced it will layoff more than a hundred employees at multiple locations across the state starting this August, including three locations here in central New York.
According to the State Department of Labor, 22 employees working at the Cicero location, 12 employees in Ithaca, and 31 employees in Oriskany will be permanently laid off on August 3.
The announcement came Friday, July 17, with warnings supposedly sent to affected employees in March.
Other impacted locations include 31 employees in Broome county, 32 employees in Chemung county, and 36 employees in Erie county; for a total of 164 layoffs across the state.
In New York, covered businesses are required by law to provide early warnings of closures and layoffs to the State as well as all affected staff and representatives.
