Homer, N.Y. — Two people were injured Tuesday after a logging truck crossed the center line and crashed into an SUV on Route 90 in Cortland County, police said.

Troopers responded to the crash around 12:35 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 90 in the town of Homer, according to state police.

Police said a Suit-Kote tanker truck had stopped for a tractor when a logging truck operated by Don Snow Trucking failed to notice the stopped vehicle in time. The logging truck attempted to stop, crossed the double yellow line into the opposite lane and struck a Kia Sorento.

The impact sent the Kia into a ditch. The logging truck then overturned onto its passenger side and came to rest in the middle of the roadway, troopers said.

The driver of the Kia, a 42-year-old Homer woman, was taken to Upstate University Hospital with injuries. The driver of the logging truck, a 50-year-old Greene man, was taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, troopers said.

The driver of the Suit-Kote tanker, a 66-year-old Georgetown man, was not injured.

State police issued traffic citations to the driver of the logging truck.
