A fast-moving wildfire broke out in the Bay Area on Tuesday afternoon, forcing evacuations as it exploded to 700 acres.

The Little Fire started sometime before 3 p.m. near Little Valley Road and Hubbard Lane, south of Pleasanton in Alameda County, and quickly grew in size, leading fire officials to issue evacuation orders for nearby zones, according to CAL FIRE.

Images of the fire showed heavy smoke billowing from the area as crews worked to extinguish the blaze, which remains at 0% containment.

The Little Fire started near Sunol in the East Bay and quickly grew in size, leading fire officials to issue evacuation orders.

The blaze was burning near several homes on Little Valley Road, according to KRON4.

Evacuation orders have been issued for Zones ALC-072, PLS-079, PLS-080, PLS-081, PLS-082, and PLS-103.

Crews from the Alameda County Fire Department and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department also responded, with firefighters battling the blaze from both the ground and the air.
