Melania Trump‘s marriage to Donald Trump is reportedly facing real challenges as reports claim she “barely speaks” to him.
The couple has had to weather many setbacks in their 20-year union, including an alleged affair on the president’s part that saw him pay “hush money” to cover it up.
It comes as Donald Trump’s closeness with younger blonde aide Natalie Harp continues to raise eyebrows after it was revealed she’d been leaving emotional notes for him to read.

In new bold claims, prominent political biographer and journalist Michael Wolff says their union is now at “its lowest point,” after previously revealing in his book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” that they sleep in separate bedrooms.
“Everybody in the White House is afraid of Melania Trump and her power — that is, if she chooses to use it,” the author wrote, per reports. “They largely think she won’t, or at least won’t use it so obviously enough to directly threaten the palace, but they can’t be sure.”
“At the same time, they think that the relationship between the president and his wife is probably at its lowest point since the Stormy Daniels trial — and that was very low,” he added.

Trump was found guilty of paying adult film actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in hush money through his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, just before the 2016 presidential election to silence her claims of a 2006 one-night stand.
The billionaire politician later reimbursed Cohen, falsely recording the repayments as legal expenses, which led to his conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in May 2024, per the BBC.
Speculations later surfaced that his marriage to Melania was troubled amid mounting legal and financial woes that he faced ahead of his second term.
According to Page Six, insiders revealed that she and her team “quietly” renegotiated their prenup agreement to protect herself and mostly their son, Barron.
“This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her marital agreement,” the source said, before adding at the time that it wasn’t done because the former first lady was going anywhere.

Wolff has now suggested that the opposite may be true about why Melania renegotiated their prenup, linking it to their allegedly struggling relationship.
He claims the couple “barely speak,” adding, “There is hardly even the pretense that she lives in the White House.”
However, the White House has dispelled Wolff’s claims, with spokesperson Davis Ingle slamming the author as “a lying piece of sh-t,” per The Daily Beast.
Regardless, the move has done little to avert fears for the state of their marriage, especially after they put up an awkward appearance at the 2026 World Cup final between Spain and Argentina on Sunday.

Body language expert Chris Pardoe explained that Melania seemed “checked out” and also put up the “barriers” as she watched the game from the VIP glassed-in suite alongside Trump and other dignitaries.
“Forget the penalty kicks. The real spectacle at the FIFA World Cup Final was happening in the VIP box, where Melania Trump delivered a masterclass in the art of the cold shoulder,” the expert told The Irish Star, adding that she seemed to have “perfected the art of the ‘invisible wall.'”
“What strikes me most is the consistency. Melania doesn’t just look uninterested, she’s executing a strategy. This isn’t someone having a bad day; this is someone sending a message,” he continued.
Pardoe added, “While Donald Trump leans forward with visible engagement, Melania maintains the kind of distance you’d expect between strangers on a train, not spouses at a major global event.”
Donald Trump Raised Eyebrows Over His Closeness With Younger Aide
The president also raised eyebrows on the state of their relationship when it was revealed that he’d grown closer to younger aide Natalie Harp. Last month, they were seen together at his Virginia Golf club, amid allegations she has grown an “unhealthy” obsession with the president.
According to The Daily Beast, she has seemingly endeared herself to Trump by dropping emotional letters in his “personal spaces” before joining the White House staff, with one reportedly reading, “You are all that matters to me.”
The reporters also claim that Trump compared her to his family at the start of his second term, telling staff that Harp “was the only one who loved him as much as his wife and his kids.”
“All of you will go off and make money,” he would often tell staff members, according to the book. “She’ll never leave me.”
For her part, one of the eyebrow-raising notes she has left the president allegedly had her saying, “You are all that matters to me. I don’t ever want to let you down.”
According to Wolff, she also once branded Trump the “alpha and the omega,” “the be-all and end-all,” and even asked, “What would I be without you?”
