On July 13, @calicomaizie shared a video of a very sweet Calico cat named Maizie, who is an older sister to a little Golden Retriever brother.
Maizie is trying to act tough and like she doesn't really care for her little brother. When he zooms past her, she stops him to bop him in the face, all while his tail is wagging at full speed.
But the second she forgets there's a camera on her, Maizie shows her true colors. She loves her brother and gives him a gentle pat and a kiss.

In other videos of Maizie, we get to see her cute relationship with her cat sibling, a Tabby who loves to give her cuddles and bathe her head. Maizie also enjoys big stretches, bird watching, and playing with her feather toys.

How Long It Takes Cats and Dogs To Bond
Maizie tries to make it seem like she's nonchalant and doesn't care about her new puppy sibling, but we can see right through it. These two are new besties, and they have a lot left to learn about each other, but it seems like they're on the perfect path.
According to The Animal Foundation, if you want your dog and cat to form a strong bond, it will take time. They say that some pairings of dogs and cats don't click immediately, while others do, and patience is key here. They note that it can take some pairs weeks or months to "settle into peaceful coexistence," and that putting hard expectations on them might not land the way you hope.
Their affection might not be instant, and that's OK, but with love, patience, and help when needed, dogs and cats can learn to trust, feel safe, and create millions of memories.
