Shelter dogs spend a lot of time alone in their kennels, with little space to run around or get exercise. They have to come up with ways to entertain themselves, which is a challenge. Yet some canines can be quite creative.
Alabama the Pit Bullmix is currently at the Maui Humane Society and figured out how to playfully pass the time.
In the TikTok from @cassondrachristman, Alabama was captured on camera playing on his dog bed with a random toy. Though he was by himself, he was like a one-pooch party.
"I was walking by and saw him being SO silly!" the caption revealed. "It was adorable and yes, he knew I was there watching and didn’t even care — I swear he was putting a show on!"
The fun-loving fur baby created his own little game and enjoyed every minute. Despite being found lost on the street with his sister, Alabama still had a positive and playful spirit.
"Alabama was having the time of his life throwing his Nubz bone," the on-screen text shared. "He thought this was the most fun thing. He kept flinging it in the air."
Alabama Needs a Forever Family
The canine cutie's sister was already adopted, yet no one has filled out an application for Alabama. The 1-year-old pretty Pittie is described as "friendly with people, puppyish but also knows 'sit' and 'paw,' and takes treats gently. He loves his toys, too."
Alabama is "dog-social" and obviously knows how to have fun. He is one of many dogs at the Maui Humane Society longing for a forever home.
Adopters should keep the "3-3-3 rule" in mind when bringing home a shelter dog:

- 3 days for decompression, which can include excessive sleeping, avoiding contact, limited appetite, testing boundaries, and pacing.
- 3 weeksfor adjustment, where you'll see typical signs like increased appetite, learning house rules, more interaction, and your dog coming out of their shell.
- 3 months for building confidence for your dog to feel fully secure in their new home with noticeable emotional progress, a stronger attachment to family members, a stable routine, and better behavior and obedience.
Hopefully, someone will soon open their heart to Alabama and give him the forever home he deserves.
