Recently, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made headlines when he posted some Instagram photos of himself alongside members of his family. Rodgers had been known to be estranged from some members of his family over the years, which made the post heartwarming in the eyes of many fans.
However, those who think that the reunion was a recent occurrence due to the Instagram post are mistaken, according to TMZ.
“Aaron Rodgers’ family reunion didn’t start this week despite what fans may think … ’cause TMZ has learned the Steelers QB had already reunited with his parents months before he publicly revealed they’d reconciled,” reported TMZ.

TMZ also added that Rodgers and his parents were seen talking in April at the Pleasant Valley High School Athletics Hall of Fame dinner in Chico, California, where Rodgers was inducted into the school Hall of Fame. Rodgers also reportedly thanked his parents during his speech that evening.
Rodgers has been known to have had a strained relationship with his family for several years now, including his brother Jordan Rodgers, who was noticeably absent from both the Instagram posts and TMZ’s reporting about the event in Chico. However, it appears that his relationship with his parents, at least, has been at least somewhat mended.
Meanwhile, on the field, Rodgers will hope to build off last year, when the Steelers were ushered out of the Wild Card round of the playoffs by the Houston Texans. The Steelers have made some big moves this offseason, most notably hiring Rodgers’ former coach Mike McCarthy to replace Mike Tomlin.
In any case, the Steelers’ new season is slated to get underway on September 13 at home against the Atlanta Falcons.
