Rock star Matty Healy and model Gabbriette Bechtel got married at Madonna’s former mansion.
The groom put on a show at his bachelor party by performing with his own tribute band.
The wedding came shortly after his famous ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift got married.
Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel are married. The frontman of The 1975 and the model exchanged vows on Saturday at Castillo del Lago, a former Los Angeles estate owned by singer Madonna in the Hollywood Hills. Healy (37) and Bechtel (28) have been together since September 2023, according to Page Six.
Healy wore a black tuxedo, while Bechtel chose a white wedding dress for the ceremony at the villa built in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. Their engagement in June 2024 was confirmed by Healy’s mother Denise Welch, who said at the time that she “could not be happier” for them.
Famous guests and celebrations
Among the wedding guests were Charli XCX and her husband George Daniel, who is also Healy’s bandmate. The guest list also included Anastasia Karanikolaou, Fai Khadra, Alex Consani, Devon Lee Carlson with her fiancé Duke Nicholson, Sydney Lynn Carlson, Tyrell Hampton, Alex O’Connor and Quenlin Blackwell.
Before the wedding, Healy performed with a tribute band that plays songs by his own group at his bachelor party. Videos of him singing with the group 9075 at a party in Malibu spread across social media, with the band performing the song “The Sound” as well. Bechtel celebrated her bachelorette party last month and chose a vintage Chanel outfit for her flight to Las Vegas.
Wedding shortly after Taylor Swift’s marriage
The wedding news comes shortly after Healy’s former girlfriend Taylor Swift married Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce on July 3. The couple reportedly held their wedding at Madison Square Garden in front of numerous celebrities. Interestingly, Liam Hemsworth and his fiancée Gabriella Brooks were also among the guests, and Brooks is another one of Healy’s former girlfriends.
Swift and Healy were briefly romantically linked for several weeks after she ended her relationship with actor Joe Alwyn in April 2023. A source told The Sun in May 2023 that the pair were in the “very early stages” of their relationship but were also “madly in love.”
“Both Matty and Taylor have been on tour in recent weeks, so they have mostly been communicating through FaceTime and messages, but she cannot wait to see him again,” the source said at the time. The source added that Healy hoped to attend her Eras Tour concert in Nashville and that the couple wanted to “stand behind this romance rather than hide it.” A month later, TMZ reported that they had broken up.
