The bell cow believes he will be ready to go for the Buccaneers’ first training camp practice next week. Rookies report to the AdventHealth Training Center on July 27, veterans report on the 28th, and the first practice is scheduled for the 29th.
Who takes over if Irving is not ready?
Kenneth Gainwell will handle starting duties during training camp if Irving is not ready or is limited to start training camp. Gainwell enjoyed a strong 2025 campaign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, totaling a career-high 537 rushing yards and five touchdowns, 486 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and 633 kick return yards in the regular season, along with 20 rushing yards, 26 receiving yards, and 100 kick return yards in the Wild Card. His efforts earned him the team MVP.
