A new truck stop with a gas station and convenience store is coming to Mines Road, with construction scheduled to begin this fall.
According to a permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, a Mr. Express facility, under the project name "Nuevo Truck Stop," will be built at 11719 F.M. 1472 near the intersection of Mines Road and Bob Bullock Loop.
The project has an estimated cost of $8 million. Construction is scheduled to begin Sept. 23 and be completed May 31.
Plans for the truck stop include a 9,923-square-foot convenience store. The project also includes a 5,096-square-foot canopy with eight fuel pumps and a 4,890-square-foot high-speed diesel fuel canopy with nine fuel pumps.
Houston-based Castles Design Group is the design firm for the project, and Laredo-based Nuevo Investments LLC is the owner.
