BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - The organization that rescued a bald eagle found on the side of the road Tuesday in Butler County has an update.
Butler County deputies were called to US 127 and Oxford Middletown Road for the injured bird.
They contacted Shannon Frantz with Raptor Incorporated, who thought it might have a broken leg and was possibly hit by a car.
While Frantz believes the eagle did suffer an injury to its leg or foot, she doesn't believe it has any fractures. X-rays will be done to confirm that but she believes it might be a soft tissue damage.
She said the eagle is able to stand on both feet.
The eagle is believed to be one or two-years old. They don't get the white head or tail until they're around five years old.
The eagle is currently getting medications for pain and inflammation and it's resting.
If the eagle does make a full recovery from its injuries, the plan will be to release it back into the wild around the area where it was found.
