Netflix's biggest movies of all time now include a true fantasy behemoth.
Netflix's library of movies has many excellent licensed films, but Netflix's Original movies are where all eyes really are. The streaming service has come up with many successful original concepts over the years, with genres like sci-fi, horror, fantasy, action, and more making up the list of Netflix's most popular movies of all time. That select group received a new member earlier this year, as Reacher star Alan Ritchson led War Machine, a sci-fi action thriller that managed to climb all the way to 9th on Netflix's all-time movie chart. Now, another 2026 Netflix movie has managed to crack that chart.
Netflix has confirmed that Swapped is now the 10th most-watched movie on the streaming service of all time. Netflix's all-time Top 10 Most Popular Movies chart previously held the Russo Brothers' The Gray Man in that spot.
The action thriller, which featured a star-studded cast like Chris Evans, who will team up with the Russos again for Marvel's upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, and Ryan Gosling, who led the sci-fi box office hit Project Hail Mary, accrued 139.3 million views in its first 91 days on Netflix. Swapped managed to surpass it with 139.8 million views in a shorter amount of time.
The Netflix fantasy movie debuted on the streaming service on May 1, which means that its views will stop being counted for Netflix's all-time movie chart on Thursday, July 30. As such, Swapped managed to become Netflix's 10th most-watched movie of all time in just 82 days, leaving The Gray Man behind.
This also means that there is still a chance that Swapped could finish the tracking window in a higher spot on Netflix's all-time movies chart. The closest movies it could surpass on the select Netflix list are War Machine, Leave the World Behind, and Back in Action. In light of the Netflix record, director Nathan Greno celebrated the achievement with the following statement:
"Swapped becoming one of Netflix’s ten most popular films of all time is an incredible honor. Thank you to audiences around the world who embraced our film. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Swapped celebrates the idea that we’re stronger together, and there’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that message has connected with so many people across the globe."
Ritchson's War Machine racked up 139.9 million views to end up in 9th, making the fellow 2026 movie the easiest for Swapped to surpass, as the new Netflix fantasy movie would need less than a million views to leave it behind. Ranking higher than Julia Roberts' Leave the World Behind would be a harder task, as Swapped would need to eclipse 143.4 million views.
Then, Back in Action, which marked Cameron Diaz's return to acting in a team-up with Jamie Foxx, finished the 91-day window with 147.2 million views. Swapped needs 7.5 million views to surpass all three films.
Swapped is now the 2nd animated movie on Netflix's all-time movie chart, with KPop Demon Hunters leading the list with a massive total of 325.1 million views. That release is the only Netflix movie to date to crack the 300 million mark. Swapped managed to break several Netflix records due to its strong reception.
The Netflix fantasy movie holds a decent 68% critics' score and a stellar 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Swapped follows a woodland creature and a bird, born rivals, as they switch bodies and try to save their magical valley. A Swapped sequel has yet to be announced.
