The LeBron James sweepstakes continue for another week, and there is still no update on when he’ll make his decision. There have been many rumors about when he may sign with a team, while also assuming what team he’ll go to. The truth is, nobody knows anything, and it doesn’t even seem like James knows where he’s going at this point after the conversation that Kendrick Perkins had with Rich Paul.
“This has nothing to do with money,” Perkins said. The teams that are at the top of (LeBron’s) list, they’re all gonna pay the same dollar amount. He’s not asking a team to move anybody that’s contradicting what they’re standing for. It’s not about the money, it’s about the fit. He’s had his mind made up…and then all of a sudden he’s changed his mind and he’s back to the drawing board again.”
There have been the same five teams who are at the top of James’ list, and it’s the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves. All of these teams have pros and cons about them, but what they all have in common is that they can help James win another championship.
That’s why it’s understandable why James is changing his mind and going back to the drawing board. It could be because he sees a team may have a better fit than the other, or maybe even a better location.
In the end, James is going to take his time on a decision, and it may take a few more days or weeks. If he’s still making up his mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise if an announcement didn’t happen this week.
