It doesn’t look like marvels-kevin-feige-gets-brutally-honest-on-mcus-underdog-status">Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has any plans of stopping the MCU after the next two Avengers movies, as he has plans for projects up to 2042.
During a recent interview (via Discussing Film), Feige claimed that plans are in place for MCU projects through 2042. Now, he knows there’s a chance that those plans don’t come to fruition, but he’s still planning.
“As for whether we can hold on until 2042? Who knows. Will it be those movies that will be made? Who knows,” he said, acknowledging the long walk ahead.

How long will Kevin Feige keep the MCU going?
It sounds like Feige has no intentions of stopping the MCU anytime soon. If he wants to keep it going for another 16 years, though, things will have to be kept fresh.
There are two major releases coming up: Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday. Both should be big hits, as the last Tom Holland-led Spider-Man made over $1.9 billion at the box office. The last Avengers movie, Endgame, is one of the highest-grossing movies ever, making nearly $2.8 billion.
As of the time of this writing, the next MCU movie after Doomsday is another Avengers flick, Secret Wars, which is slated to come out nearly a full year later on Dec. 17, 2027.
Of course, more movies could be announced to fill in the calendar in 2027. However, the MCU’s output has slowly scaled back over the last couple of years. After releasing four movies in theaters in 2021, Marvel released three in 2022 and 2023.
In 2024, there was just one MCU movie, Deadpool & Wolverine. However, they returned to the three-release format in 20255 when Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps were all released. Several MCU Disney+ series have come out over the last couple of years in addition to the movies.
