MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace on Monday said the “brazen corruption” of President Donald Trump has begun frustrating even some of his biggest MAGA supporters, including former Fox News host Megyn Kelly — who has joined an increasingly dejected chorus.
“Don’t fall for sad Megyn,” Wallace said Monday on “Deadline: White House.”

The MS NOW host was reacting to Kelly claiming on Sky News Australia earlier this month that she is “disappointed” in Trump and his family for profiting off of the presidency — and for comparing it to the alleged corruption of former President Joe Biden’s son Hunter.
Wallace said, “There was never even a wild accusation about Hunter Biden that comes close to approximating what Trump and his family are doing, but it is an interesting political moment where the MAGA base just cannot launder any more of Trump’s brazen corruption.”
Kelly has been a vocal Trump supporter for years, but broke with him during his second term over his war on Iran and genocidal rhetoric. The MAGA leader has also boasted about the billions he has “raised” following his 2024 reelection.
“I don’t feel great about our leaders, I’m not going to lie,” Kelly told Sky News Australia on July 1. “I’m disappointed with some aspects of the Trump presidency, for sure, like the Iran war. That’s No. 1. It’s so grifty, I’m not going to lie. The Trump family is grifty.”
She continued, “There’s been story after story about all the money that his sons are making off of the government, these government contracts they’re getting. I can’t stand that stuff … I didn’t like it when Hunter Biden was doing it and I don’t like it when the Trumps are doing it.”
Hunter Biden was famously accused by Republicans of profiteering from his father’s presidency through his position at a Ukrainian energy company and by fetching millions for his personal artwork. Trump has reportedly made more than $2 billion since his reelection.
The MAGA leader has even openly bragged about the fortune he has made since returning to office, is selling his own cryptocurrency and accepted a $400 million luxury jet from Qatar before quietly granting the oil-rich theocracy a defense guarantee from the U.S. government.
His sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., meanwhile, were awarded a lucrative U.S. Air Force contract to sell the armed forces branch an undisclosed number of drone interceptors as partial owners of a defense technology company, Bloomberg reported in April.
Wallace argued MAGA pundits like Kelly are now trying to distance themselves from Trump.

“They appear to want to align themselves with voters in the center and on the left who have a big problem with the Trump family’s egregious corruption and grift, all at the expense of competent leadership and U.S. national security,” Wallace said Monday.
The MS NOW host went on to quote a recent article from the editors of The Free Press, which was notably founded by pro-Trump journalist Bari Weiss, to suggest just how frustrating the MAGA leader’s opportunistic behavior has become even to his supporters.

“Again, for Megyn Kelly’s lame attempt at any comparison, as The Free Press puts it, quote, ‘For all the condemnation of the so-called “Biden Crime Family” by Republicans … it pales in comparison to what is happening in this presidency,’” said Wallace.
The Free Press article written by the outlet’s editors, which was titled “Trump’s Art of the Self-Deal” in an unfavorable nod to his 1987 book, added that “there is no modern parallel for the scale and shamelessness with which Trump has enriched himself while in power.”
