Meet Bowie, a tiny young puppy who is searching for the family who will help him start the next chapter of his life. Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE), a dedicated foster-based dog rescue in Massachusetts, recently introduced Bowie Rocknroll after he came into their care alongside several siblings. According to the rescue, “The ROCKNROLL litter were surrendered by their owners (who have kept their parents), and they're excited for their world tour! Hope you like guitar solos 'cause these pups are gonna bring it!”
Bowie Rocknroll is a 6-week-old puppy who is thought to be a mix of Labrador Retriever, Husky, and Great Dane. While expected to be a large boy when fully grown, he is currently a small thing who weighs between 5 and 7 pounds. He is now living with a loving foster who says, “The Rocknrollers are sweet, social, and playful pups. They look very Labby and love to play with each other. Mom was a Husky mix while their dad was a big guy and a Lab / Great Dane mix, so we are thinking the larger pups may be a good size as adults.”
Socially, Bowie gets along well with other pups, but has not had the chance to meet any children or cats yet. His foster adds, “They have lived indoors in a home since birth and have always been around people, so they're very social.” As a young baby, Bowie will require a patient family to help with potty-training as well as teaching him about crates, leashes, and basic commands. At the time of his adoption, he will be neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Bowie’s profile ends, “Pull out the electric guitars 'cause these pups are on a roll straight to a venue near you!”
Based in Massachusetts, Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group. They consist of volunteers throughout New England who love dogs and want to help them escape homelessness. Their reach spans several states, as they rescue dogs who end up in New England and Southern shelters. Since they do not have a physical shelter, all their rescue dogs receive care in nurturing foster homes until they find their forever families.
As a nonprofit organization, Great Dog Rescue New England operates entirely through donations and the dedication of volunteers whose goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to ensure proper placement in a loving home. Toward that goal, they donate money to spay and neuter clinics in the South, engage in community outreach, and adopt dogs to agencies that train dogs to assist the physically disabled and hearing-impaired.
Great Dog Rescue New England requires that anyone interested in one of their loving rescues must begin the adoption process by filling out the adoption application. You must be 24 years of age or older and living in New England, New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania to complete & submit the application.
