It must be the goggles. Or the curly hair. But really, it must be the fact that she is just that good. Olivia Miles carried the Minnesota Lynx to their sixth straight win after escaping the Seattle Storm, 105-102, at Climate Pledge Arena on Monday.
The Lynx improved to 21-6, including 11-2 on the road. They have maintained their spot atop the team standings, even though Napheesa Collier has yet to return from her ankle injury. Miles has been the driving force of their sustained dominance.
The No. 2 pick had her fingerprints all over the game, finishing with 32 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and one steal in 36 minutes. She shot 13-of-24 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.

According to StatMuse, Miles is only the second rookie in league history to tally such numbers after Candace Parker.
Parker was the No. 1 pick of the Los Angeles Sparks in 2008. She did pretty well in her career.
The 23-year-old Miles has earned praise from Collier, Sue Bird, and Kevin Garnett, among others. Bill Simmons, meanwhile, declared that Miles should have been the No. 1 pick instead of Azzi Fudd of the Dallas Wings.
She has already set multiple records, and she is far from done. She is averaging team-highs of 19.1 points and 6.0 assists to go along with 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals. She was named a starter for the All-Star Game, becoming only the ninth rookie in league history to get the nod.
Miles was already ripe for the WNBA last year, but she decided to return to college, transferring to TCU for her fifth season. She led the Horned Frogs to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Women’s Tournament.
