Kai Trump appeared to take a playful swipe at dad Donald Trump Jr. after admitting she'd "rather look like" her mom, Vanessa Trump, as she reflected on how dramatically her appearance has changed over the past few months.
The 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump made the comments in a new YouTube vlog while getting glammed up ahead of the 2026 ESPYs, where she walked her first-ever red carpet. As makeup artist Brianna used a red-light therapy device on Kai's face, she explained, "This lifts the eye real nice."
Kai quickly joked, "I've aged a lot, so we're going to need it." Brianna then reassured her, "You've definitely aged in a good way," before another member of the team added from behind the camera: "She looks regal and beautiful."

The teenage golf star agreed that her appearance has noticeably changed in recent months. "My face has changed a lot. Honestly, in the past like three months, it's changed," she explained.
Brianna then compared Kai's features to those of her mother, Vanessa Trump, who was married to Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 until their divorce in 2018. "When you were saying you look more like your mom, you thousand percent do," Brianna told her.
Kai was delighted by the comparison, replying: "Yeah, I do. But that's a great compliment." She then appeared to gently snub her father by adding: "I'd rather look like my mom."
To show just how much she believes her appearance has changed, Kai pulled up a photo of herself from President Donald Trump's inaugural ball around 18 months ago. Comparing the image with her reflection today, she suggested she'd left behind some of her more youthful features.
The older photo showed Kai with darker hair and a softer facial shape, while she pointed to what she described as a much more defined jawline now. "And look at me now," Kai declared as she moved the phone away and gestured toward her face.
Brianna was quick to praise the transformation, telling the social media star: "Like you're glowing up. Just keep on glowing up. She's aging like some fine wine."
Kai also shared the lifestyle habits she believes have contributed to her changing appearance, telling her 1.5 million YouTube subscribers that looking after her health is just as important as any skincare routine. "I take very good care of my skin, and what you put in your body is also a reflection of your skin," she said.
"Honestly, guys, the most important thing I'd say is what you put into your body. Everything you put into your body is what it's going to show on the outside. If you don't treat your body right, you're not going to — not honestly say look great — but you're just not going to feel great," Kai wisely explained.
She continued by encouraging viewers to prioritize their overall wellbeing. "I think part of it is investing in yourself and investing in your health. I think health is the most important thing ever. You can invest in yourself, eat right, work out, drink a lot of water. You can do that stuff and hopefully have good health."
