It is not a hidden fact that Melania Trump has sparked “body double rumors” multiple times on social media, where it was alleged that a lookalike of hers was accompanying Donald Trump at many public appearances. However, now her husband has also ignited similar speculations, especially after his recent attendance at the FIFA World Cup Final 2026 that took place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
It all started after Trump was spotted congratulating Spain’s star player Rodrigo Hernández Cascante after the latter’s team defeated Argentina and emerged as the champions of the game.
Donald Trump’s Height Was Subjected to Scrutiny
During the trophy presentation, Rodrigo, aka Rodri, appeared to be slightly taller than the president when both are known to be of the same height. According to the ESPN website, the Spanish footballer is known to be 6 feet 3 inches tall, while on the other hand, the official medical examination of the POTUS in April 2025, conducted by the White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, listed him at the same height.
This led some social media users to joke about Donald Trump appearing to be shorter than Rodri despite the White House claiming that he was also 6 feet 3 inches. One of the social media users wrote, “Spain captain Rodrigo Hernández Cascante is listed at 6’3. So is Trump. He is going to strain his neck while looking at Rodri.”
An X user added, “So if Rodri is 6’3, that would make Trump 5’10 or 11 inches.” Another user on X chimed in, “Rodri is 6’3, and Trump also claims to be 6’3. Trump looks like a shrimp compared to Rodri. Busted for another lie.”
Meanwhile, comedian-host Jon Stewart jokingly pointed out a figure standing behind Trump after he landed at the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland after the FIFA World Cup final.
“Is That a Backup Trump?”
The man standing behind the president had an uncanny resemblance to him. Both men could be seen wearing similar suits, with the only difference being the color of the tie. The man also had a strikingly similar build and stature to the POTUS.
While showing a video clip of the same to his viewers at Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, Stewart joked about it and said, “What’s up with the guy behind Trump? Can we see that again? Who the … is this guy? Who in the world is this? Oh my god, is that a backup Trump? Wait a minute, hold on a second! Wait, what? Is that a backup Trump, or is that Trump? Wait, is the one we’ve been dealing with backup Trump? Or is that Trump?”
While the internet resonated with Jon Stewart’s joke on Trump having a body double, it was soon discovered that the man behind the president was his father-in-law and Melania Trump’s father, Viktor Knavs.
One of the social media users wrote, “OK, OK, funny stuff. But the ‘body double’ is Melania’s father. DJT’s father-in-law is often invited to fun stuff,” while another added, “That’s Mr Knavs, his father-in-law.”
