Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have people convinced that their anniversary date was extra special this year — not that they didn’t deserve it after all of the divorce rumors they’ve endured recently. After the couple shared a photo from their date night looking suspiciously glam for their evening out, some fans are convinced that they actually went to Taylor Swift’s wedding but are keeping it a secret.
Gwen and Blake celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary earlier this month.
On July 3, their wedding anniversary (and now, Taylor and Travis Kelce’s anniversary), Gwen posted a photo from her ceremony with Blake on social media, writing, “5 years married to my forever.”
But on Monday, Gwen returned to Instagram with a new video to show off their outfits from their anniversary date, and they’re looking more red carpet than date night here. Not only were the couple professionally styled, but they were also dressed in outfits that are giving major “black tie” vibes — even a tuxedo for Blake.
This is a lot of effort for an anniversary date night, and of course, if they wanted to do it up big for the five year milestone, who could blame them? But this particular post has a lot of people thinking it was more than just an evening to celebrate their anniversary.
Commenters are convinced that Gwen and Blake were at the Swift-Kelce wedding.
Their anniversary happened to be the same day Taylor and Travis got married, they’re dressed like they’re going to a very fancy wedding, and they’re not sharing where they went on their date. And as People pointed out, one commenter even noticed that in the video, a label was on Blake’s tux that read “Blake NYC,” so they also happened to be in the right place at the right time.
“Looks like y’all went to a certain wedding,” one commenter wrote.
Another said, “Happy Anniversary! Is that New York…??? Did we go to a wedding for the wedding anniversary???”
So far, Gwen and Blake haven’t confirmed or denied the speculation.
Gwen already got flak for posting about their anniversary on Taylor’s wedding day… which also happened to be hers five years ago.
Some people online including popular X user and journalist Yashar Ali made comments about Gwen sharing photos of her own wedding day the day that Taylor got married… but it’s not like she could change the day of her anniversary because Taylor was also getting married that day!
One person sarcastically replied to Yashar, “I know right? I am fascinated by America choosing to celebrate its 250th birthday tomorrow. It’s way too close to Taylor Swift’s wedding.”
Okay, so that was a little shady of America…
