A United States Postal Service clerk in Florida was arrested Monday after an undercover operation revealed she was allegedly stealing cash and gift cards from the mail, state law enforcement officials announced.

Napeaches Blair, 43, of Tallahassee, faces one count of grand theft, a third-degree felony, and one count of mail theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. Blair worked as a Sales and Service Clerk at a local Tallahassee post office counter.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began investigating the matter in April 2026 after receiving information from the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General.

According to investigators, the OIG discovered that Blair was taking money and gift cards from mail pieces while working her counter position. To confirm the activity, an undercover FDLE special agent attempted to mail a card containing $1,000 in cash. The operation confirmed that Blair removed the cash from the card.

Blair was arrested on July 13 and booked into the Leon County Jail. The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney for the Second Judicial Circuit.

“Whether it is connecting with loved ones who are far away or ensuring important and sensitive information is transported safely, the postal system is a crucial component of our lives,” said FDLE Tallahassee Special Agent in Charge Keith Wilmer in a statement. “Manipulating the U.S. Mailing System will never be tolerated in Florida and FDLE will investigate any crimes that affect that system.”

The U.S. Postal Service OIG assisted FDLE’s Tallahassee Economic Crime Squad throughout the investigation. Authorities stated that the investigation remains active.
