Detectives in Arlington County say a man in custody is accused of robbing a bank in Crystal City on Wednesday.
Around 12:30 p.m., officers were called to a bank in the 1400 block of S. Eads Street for a report of a bank robbery. When officers got there, they learned a man entered the bank and showed a note to a teller demanding money. The man then ran away with an undisclosed amount of money before police arrived. No weapon was seen and no injuries were reported.
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified 36-year-old Brian Frances, of D.C., as the suspected robber. He was taken into custody with help from Metro Transit Police. Frances is charged with robbery and is being held in the District pending extradition to Virginia.
