Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark had another heated moment on the court, as she got into it with Connecticut Sun guard Saniya Rivers. With under a minute left in the third quarter, Clark drew a foul from Connecticut center Olivia Nelson-Ododa.
Rivers, however, seems to have something to say about the call that Clark apparently did not like. That led to a heated exchange, with Clark seemingly pointing to the scoreboard as though to tell Rivers the game’s practically over, with Indiana up by 28 points at that point.
The refs felt they needed to control the situation, so a technical foul was slapped on each of Clark and Rivers.

As it turned out, the game was really over, as Clark and the Fever even added to that lead with a huge fourth quarter, where they outscored the Sun, 26-19, on their way to a 123-88 victory.
Clark, who was on the Fever injury report before getting upgraded to available for the Sun game, had a night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, finishing with 27 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field with five 3-pointers, 11 assists, a steal and a block in 27 minutes of action. She turned the ball over six times, but was a plus-26 overall. Meanwhile, Rivers produced 13 points on 6-for-14 shooting off the bench for the Sun, who dropped to 7-19, as the Fever improved to 16-10.
The bigger implication of Clark’s technical foul is that she is now only a tech away from getting automatically suspended for a game. The technical threshold for WNBA players is 8, so another technical would mean a 1-game ban for the superstar point guard.
