Bobby recently learned there's a name for what Arkansas football fans go through: sports depression. What started as a conversation about struggling teams turned into a funny and surprisingly relatable discussion about heartbreak, hope, and why some fans just can't quit their team.

Arkansas Football Is Giving Bobby "Sports Depression"

If you've listened to the show for more than about five minutes, you know Bobby takes his Arkansas Razorbacks very seriously....Maybe too seriously!

A conversation about sports fandom took an unexpected turn when Bobby admitted that Arkansas football doesn't just affect his mood on game days—it affects him all year long.

The discussion started after Bobby brought up something called "sports depression," which some experts use to describe the sadness, frustration, and emotional letdown fans can feel when their favorite team struggles.

For Bobby, that feeling isn't just temporary.

"I think I have long-term sports depression," he admitted.

While some fans get upset for a day or two after a tough loss, Bobby says his relationship with Arkansas football is much deeper than that. Every season starts with hope, but lately that hope has been hard to find.

"I look forward to seasons and go, 'Well, there's no hope at all next year.'"

The rest of the show tried to talk him off the ledge, but Bobby wasn't having it.

He explained that Arkansas sports have been a huge part of his life for decades, and because he's invested so much emotionally, every disappointing season hits hard.

At one point, Eddie compared it to how devastated he gets when the Cowboys lose.

The difference? Eddie usually recovers by Wednesday.

Bobby says Arkansas football follows him year-round.

Bobby revealed that he recently removed the Arkansas Razorbacks helmet from his desk because looking at it was making him sad. Don't worry though—he didn't get rid of it.

"It's in my office," he explained.

His comparison for the situation was classic Bobby!

"It's like if my son committed a crime and he's in prison. I still love him... but we gotta have some separation."

If you're a longtime fan of a college football program that constantly breaks your heart, Bobby says he understands exactly what you're going through.

And judging by the reaction from the room, there might need to be a support group meeting sometime soon.
