'Big Brother 28' spoilers: Power of veto ceremony results (week 2)

WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT BIG BROTHER 28!The Big Brother 28 week 2 Power of Veto ceremony has taken place, and its winner was revealed on the live feeds. Rick Devens won the week 2 HOH competition, despite trying to throw it to Haley Thogmartin, and he decided to shake up the house after Angela Murray told him that she wanted to see Rome backdoored. Rome has been in a showmance with Lyric Medeiros since day 2, in addition to being the charismatic leader of the other side of the house.

After a meeting with his new Toolshed alliance, a combination of The Crossovers and The Red Corner, Devens nominated Jason De Puy, Lyric Medeiros, and Melody Morris for eviction, but he made it clear at the nomination ceremony that his true target was Rome. In front of everyone, he revealed that Rome had told him that Lyric and Jason were his top priorities, while he was willing to sacrifice Melody and LaTrice Verrett. LaTrice was devastated by this and cried hysterically. In addition, Jason and Angela had an explosive argument when Jason called Devens a liar and stated that it was Angela's HOH because she was actually behind the whole plan.

The Big Brother 28 live feeds have revealed that Head of Household (HOH) and Power of Veto winner Rick Devens used the Veto to save Lyric from the chopping block, and named Rome as his replacement nominee. This means that the final nominees are Rome, Jason, and Melody. Devens had gone back and forth about whether he should save Lyric or Melody, and he finally decided on Lyric. In the meantime, Rome and Lyric faked a breakup in order to take some of the heat off of themselves.

What Devens Saving Lyric Means For Big Brother 28

By taking Lyric off of the chopping block, Devens might've regained her trust, but he's now allowing her to not only campaign for Rome to stay, but also to vote for him if he doesn't win the BB Block Buster. If Lyric and Rome were on the chopping block together, then she would've had to focus on saving herself. Also, it would've guaranteed that one of them would go home, and the showmance would've been broken up.

However, Devens wanted to prove to Rome that he liked him by taking Lyric down. He's probably thinking ahead to what will happen if Rome wins the BB Block Buster and stays in the house. It seems to be working because Rome told Lyric and Melody that Devens did the respectful thing by taking Lyric off of the block for him, which was nice of him.

What Will Happen If Rome Seymour Wins The BB Block Buster?

If Rome wins the BB Block Buster competition, then it's highly likely that the target will shift to Jason, and he'll be evicted. Both Rome and Jason won safety during the first competitions of the season, so they've both proven that they perform well under pressure. It'll be exciting to see them compete against each other, along with Melody.

When the Big Brother 28 live feeds returned after the Power of Veto ceremony, Yash Patel told Melody that he believed that she was safe, but she should go into the BB Block Buster and fight to win it, just in case. However, it seems that Melody will stay no matter if she's up against Rome or Jason. Between Rome and Jason, Rome will most likely be evicted.

Devens' move to save Lyric has its pros and cons. On the one hand, he could regain trust with her and Rome if they both end up staying, but, on the other, if Rome is evicted, Lyric could try to come after him when he's ineligible to play for HOH next week. However, Devens has a large group of allies surrounding him with his Toolshed alliance, so it'll be very hard to execute a plan against him.

There's also always a chance that the BB Time Capsule could unleash another power into the house, and, because Devens is a Survivor legend, he has a great chance of winning America's Vote to play for it. There's still a lot of game left to play in Big Brother 28 week 2, and week 3 is already shaping up to be another roller coaster, and it hasn't even started yet.
