- AerCap (AER) has placed an order for 15 Boeing (BA) 787-9 jets, bringing its 787 Dreamliner portfolio to approximately 140 airplanes.
- The agreement includes substitution rights for the 787-10, giving AerCap the flexibility to switch to the larger 787 Dreamliner variant that delivers more capacity.
- AerCap (AER), the world's largest aircraft leasing company, is already one of Boeing's (BA) biggest customers. An order for additional 787 Dreamliners would support Boeing's (BA) widebody backlog as the company works to increase production and strengthen cash flow.
- AerCap was the first lessor to take delivery of the 787 Dreamliner in 2013.
