The patch notes for WWE 2K26 update 1.14 read like most patch notes: long move lists, a stack of entrance camera fixes, some Universe Mode housekeeping. The interesting part is the added new audio which long-time fans will surely appreciate.
Five entrance themes have been added to the game, and at least one of them is a song you can no longer stream anywhere.
The Five New Themes

On paper it is a nostalgia grab bag. In practice it is more deliberate than that, and the Gargano pair is where it gets genuinely interesting.
WWE 2K26 is the Only Place for Rebel Heart
Gargano gets two themes here, which is unusual, and the reason is that they occupy very different positions.
Coming Back for You is his current music. It was pulled from streaming services after he left WWE in late 2021 and restored once he started using it again in early 2026, shortly before his NXT return in March.
Rebel Heart is the one fans actually campaign about. It is the CFO$ track that defined his black-and-gold NXT run, and it has become genuinely difficult to access: it was pulled from streaming services when the CFO$ and WWE partnership ended, along with Chrome Hearts, the #DIY tag theme. When WWE later brought Gargano out on RAW to a remixed version rather than the original, the response was loud and negative.
So its inclusion here is not just a nice addition to a music library. For a stretch of Gargano's most beloved work, the game is now one of the few legitimate places the original recording exists in an accessible form. Wrestling themes have a habit of disappearing when licensing deals lapse, and video games occasionally end up as the accidental archive.
The Game Is Catching Up To 2026 Television
The other pattern in this list is that it tracks real WWE programming from the first half of this year rather than reaching randomly into the archive.
Finn Bálor brought Catch Your Breath back on RAW in February 2026 after years of using Judgment Day music, and confirmed on social media that the change was permanent. Gargano returned to NXT in March. Both themes now landing in the game in July is Visual Concepts syncing the audio library to what has actually been happening on TV, which is a level of maintenance the yearly release cycle does not always bother with.
The Brood fits the other half of the game's identity. WWE 2K26 has leaned hard on the Attitude Era all year, right down to the edition names, and the Brood entrance is one of the most distinctive pieces of music from that period. It also slots neatly beside a Season 4 built around Team Xtreme.
Radio is the deep cut, and it has a roster connection: Matt Cardona, who wrestled as Zack Ryder, joined the roster back in Ringside Pass Season 3. Adding his signature theme a season later completes a package that was previously missing its most recognisable element, especially for those making CAW versions of Zack Ryder in the game.
What Else Is In Patch 1.14
The rest of the patch is the mechanical support for Season 4, which went live this week.
The full movesets for Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Jelly Roll, and Lady Shani are itemised, including the Hardys' tag moves Plot Twist, Assisted Diving Elbow Drop, and Poetry in Motion '25. Both Hardys also get character-specific start-of-match energy motions, and Jeff Hardy has an alternate attire with no face paint plus an in-game animated shirt removal, which are the kind of details that matter to people who spend their time in creation suites.
On the fixes side, there is one worth singling out: generic trons and videos were appearing during the Hardy Boyz entrance when a Superstar was assigned as their manager. That is a Season 4 bug caught and patched on arrival rather than left to sit.
Universe Mode gets a meaningful cluster of intergender fixes, including intergender tag teams not appearing properly after being assigned to an Intergender Tag division, and a male Superstar being auto-assigned to a Women's Tag Team Championship division after a draft. Given that WWE 2K26 expanded intergender matches across all core modes this year, those are not cosmetic.
The remaining entries cover entrance camera alignment, championship belts vanishing mid-entrance, mask clipping on Crush's entrance, a soft crash tied to selecting Charlotte Flair as the first entrance in one-on-one MyGM matches, and new shop and bundle items for The Island.
The Small Stuff Is Doing The Work
None of this changes the structural complaint we raised in our review, where the Ringside Pass grind remains the thing standing between players and the content they paid for.
But five recovered entrance themes, a no-face-paint Jeff Hardy, and a set of intergender fixes are exactly the sort of unglamorous maintenance that keeps a wrestling game feeling current, and it is more thoughtfully chosen than a bullet list at the bottom of a patch note suggests.
