We made it to another Hump Day, lord love us.
Lead Rumor: Bayley’s contract
Bayley was just beat up by Lyra Valkyria to such a degree on Saturday Night’s Main Event that the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer speculated she was written off television, maybe for the final time. He wasn’t certain but Lyra herself is certainly talking like that’s the case.
Well, Fightful Select brings word that she has not signed a new contract with WWE just yet, if she’s going to at all. Unless time gets added to her current deal, it will expire before the end of the year.
AEW has serious interest in bringing her in, and have discussed as much internally for some time now. WWE will make a big play for her, however, and Fightful notes some feel her negotiations could very well help shape how WWE contracts are structured moving forward.
AEW, of course, has Mercedes Mone.
It will be interesting to see how this story shapes up in the months to come.
Other rumors floating around
- WrestleVotes notes that Nick Aldis’ match at SummerSlam with GUNTHER is a one-and-done but the door isn’t closed on his having an actual run sometime down the road.
- Per Self Made Pro, Triple H himself was the one who came up with the idea to have Roman Reigns & Jalen Brunson square off against Seth Rollins & Tyrese Haliburton at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
- For what it’s worth, Logan Paul claimed on IMPAULSIVE he asked his bosses at WWE to let him fight Conor McGregor but they told him they believe Conor is done.
- AEW booked Kevin Knight vs. Kenny Omega for Redemption because they believe it will elevate Knight right away and get him ready for a headlining spot for years to come, says Self Made.
