Britney Spears has often spoken about her love for her sons. She shares two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Although they have been estranged at times, recent months have shown that her sons have stood by her despite her DUIs and recent sunroof incident.
Her younger son, Jayden, 19, has yet again stood by his mother against all the “cloning” conspiracy theories. According to Entertainment Weekly, Jayden set the record straight during a live stream on July 18 that his mother is not a clone. This came after a viewer asked him a question about the viral Britney Spears clone theory during his live stream.
After the question, Jayden appeared irritated and said, “I hop on TikTok, and I see this one video that has 1.2 million likes, and the caption is like, ‘The biggest theory ever: Is Britney Spears still alive?’ Like, bro, you can go to her page and see her right now.” He called the speculation “ridiculous” and further added that this baseless theory is the prime example of how easily “exaggerated and fake” rumors spread.
Making it clear once and for all, he argued, “People know how gullible people are, and they use that to their advantage. If it has a lot of likes, they [believe] it. They don’t even research it; they’re just, ‘Wow, yeah, it’s crazy. I believe it though.'”
Reportedly, the clone theory has been going on for two years now. It started in 2024, when Kristin Cavallari discussed it on her Let’s Be Honest podcast following Spears’ erratic online behavior. Discussing the theory, she claimed, “That’s not Britney Spears. I’m sorry, it’s not Britney Spears. Go look at photos! That’s not Britney Spears.” While Jayden has tried to put the rumors to rest, it is not known whether people will believe them.
Jayden’s remarks come as he and his mother have reportedly been rebuilding their relationship in recent months. The pop star has started spending more time with her sons over the past few months. After her DUI in March, she checked herself into rehab in April, a decision that is understood to be influenced by her sons.
A statement by Spears’ representative said, “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in a long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” adding that Sean Preston and Jayden would be “spending time with her.”
Jayden and his brother also made their runway debut in the Vetements menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week last month. Britney was very supportive of her sons despite not being there with them physically. Jayden told Vogue at that time, “Oh my god, she was so nervous for us. She was just looking out for us and making sure that this was what we wanted to do. She wasn’t there with us, but she sent us flowers to our hotel as a good luck thing, and called and texted us so many times. It was good to have that and to carry that with us before we went out there.”
