Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson has nothing but respect and admiration for WNBA veteran Kelsey Mitchell. She made that crystal clear in a post on Instagram on Sunday.
Mitchell led the Fever to a huge 108-88 blowout victory over the New York Liberty on Saturday. She exploded for 33 points on 10-of-14 shooting, extending her 20-point streak this season to 10 straight games.
The 30-year-old guard is now averaging 23.3 points per game on an efficient 49.5% shooting from the field. She's second in the league in scoring, only 2.2 points behind the WNBA's leading scorer, Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson.
Johnson, who was drafted 10th overall by the Fever in the 2026 WNBA Draft, has a daily front-row seat to the Mitchell show in Indiana. Needless to say, she has enjoyed every bit of it.
The former South Carolina Gamecocks star shared her strong opinion of Mitchell, whom she considers one of the GOATs (greatest of all time).
"One of the best vet u can ask for," Johnson wrote on her Instagram story, along with a goat emoji. She also shared a post by Togethxr that highlighted Mitchell's 20-point streak.
Getting mentored by an elite scorer like Mitchell should only benefit Johnson, who is known more as a defense-first guard.
Johnson recently reached 100 career points with the Fever as she continues to work on her offensive game.
As for Mitchell, it's clear her impact on the team goes beyond the basketball court, with Johnson's comment highlighting her influence on the rookie and the rest of the team.
