Not everyone is Team Coco about Conan O'Brien's new hairstyle.

The comedian drew confusion from fans when he slicked back his iconic pompadour during the July 20 episode of his Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, prompting the internet to have some meme-worthy fun with his hair transformation.

"Greaser Conan isn't real. He can't hurt you," one fan quipped in the comments section on YouTube, while another joked, "If this is Conan’s new look he needs a gold chain."

A third comment added, "I didn't realize Conan was auditioning for the Irish spin off of The Sopranos."

And while some fans reasoned that O'Brien may have just gotten "out of the shower" before filming the podcast episode, other were perplexed at the fact that neither guest Molly Shannon or comedian's co-hosts Sona Movsesian and Matt Gourley said a word about his hair.

“Sitting here watching thinking, are we just ignoring his hair?" one fan asked in the comments, with another adding, “I’m expecting a dedicated segment about Conan’s hair at this point."

"I went with this a long time ago," the 63-year-old said of his coif in a 2025 interview with Vanity Fair, "and there's nothing we can do."

In fact, when the O'Brien had to ditch his signature quiff for his performance in 2025's If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, he likened it to "being Superman without his cape."

"The way I interpreted this therapist was, 'Oh, he's the opposite of me in so many ways,'" the former late night talk show host said of his character in a December episode of his podcast. “It’s like, ‘This guy’s no fun!'"

That's why he and director Mary Bronstein agreed that his hair "should just be pulled back and down" in the Rose Byrne-starring drama, which followed a mom spiraling into a mental breakdown.

"Just kill it with weights and restraints," he joked, before explaining how the film's hair department had to "put some stuff in there to just keep it flat."
