Whoopi Goldberg is speaking out this week to whine about the “stupidity of men.” She did so in her latest unhinged rant on her ABC talk show The View.
‘The Stupidity Of Men…’
On Monday morning, Goldberg, 70, and her co-hosts sat down with The Odyssey stars Matt Damon, 55, and Anne Hathaway, 43. They were joined by The Odyssey director Christopher Nolan, 55.
During their conversation, Goldberg raved over the movie, saying that it reminded her of today’s social climate. She then used the film to bash men in a truly shameless way.
“The thing about this for me, it gave me a lot of today, because it represents — and please don’t get annoyed with me, men — it does represent the stupidity of men,” Goldberg said.
Goldberg went on to say in the adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey, “men are told in this movie, ‘Don’t do this because this is going to happen.’ Every time, they go and do that, and they’re surprised that it’s going the other way!”
Goldberg then highlighted the movie’s handling of human conflict. She specifically stated that the film’s large-scale wars made her think of other global conflicts that are happening in the world today.
“We have to be reminded why war doesn’t really work for anybody,” she added. “No one wins in a war. There are no winners, and I got that.”
Goldberg proceeded to focus on Hathaway, who plays Penelope in The Odyssey. She told Hathaway that her character signaled to her that “women forget that they are insanely strong and they are clever, because Penelope fools these men for 20 years.”
