Where Is the 2034 World Cup?
Looking further ahead, the 2034 FIFA World Cup will be hosted in Saudi Arabia.
The 2034 global tournament, packaged by the nation as Saudi 34, will be the first-ever 48-team tournament hosted by a single country. Many of Saudi Arabia’s host cities have already been announced:

How Are the World Cup Destinations Chosen?
The host nation selection operates as a bidding process managed by the FIFA legal and financial teams.
FIFA regulates rotation rules with a two-tournament gap to allow a range of confederations to host. For the 2030 games, the AFC (Asian) and Concacaf (North American) confederations were ineligible, since they hosted the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the most recent 2026 World Cup.
Nations can bid individually or through a joint application. For 2030, Spain and Portugal bid together prior to Morocco joining their bid.
FIFA officially confirmed the main hosts of the 2030 World Cup, as well as the addition of South America for the centenarian celebrations, in December 2024.
