Willow Nightingale has revealed the aftermath of her heated confrontation with AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla on the July 22 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Just days before their title match at AEW Redemption, Nightingale shared a close-up look at the damage she suffered during the exchange.
The post came after an explosive face-to-face moderated by hardcore icon Mick Foley, where words quickly gave way to blows.

The segment began with Foley introducing both competitors ahead of their AEW Women’s World Championship match at Redemption. While the discussion started with verbal jabs, tensions steadily escalated as Thekla questioned Nightingale’s upbeat personality and accused her of hiding behind a fake smile.
Nightingale fired back, saying Thekla’s confidence masked her own insecurities before declaring that she’d be willing to embrace the same “sick and twisted” mindset Foley became famous for if it meant winning the championship.
The confrontation reached its boiling point when Thekla slapped Nightingale across the side of the head with her signature leather opera glove. Moments later, the champion escalated matters further by using a microphone to strike her challenger after briefly using Foley as a human shield.
Although Thekla landed the cheap shots, she didn’t get the final word. Nightingale recovered and answered with a thunderous Pounce that sent the champion flying out of the ring.
Later in the night, Nightingale took to X to show fans the effects of the attack. She posted a short video revealing blood around her ear and paired it with a collage featuring herself alongside Foley. Her caption read:
“Talk about being on that Mick Foley sheee.”
The post reinforced the message Nightingale delivered earlier in the night - she’s ready to absorb punishment if it brings her one step closer to the AEW Women’s World Championship.
With Redemption now just around the corner, the rivalry has already drawn first blood before the opening bell has even rung. If this was only the contract-free confrontation, fans can expect the title match to be anything but glove-friendly.
