Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green was critical of Adam Silver’s comments about LeBron James taking his time to decide his next NBA team this offseason.
James is an unrestricted free agent this summer, preparing for Year 24 of his historic career. The Warriors are on his radar, but other teams have piqued his interest as he desires to be on a title contender.
Silver talked about waiting on James’ announcement. He revealed that the schedule hinges on where the veteran star decides to go, wanting the announcement as soon as possible.

“I would like him to make his announcement already, so he can finish the schedule. Because as you might imagine, the teams are calling us, the networks are calling us, and everybody wants to lock in the schedule. But it will influence how we set the schedule, how we set opening week, Christmas Day, etc,” Silver said.
Green caught wind of those comments and reacted to them on his podcast show. He believes the opposite effect will happen instead of Silver’s wishes.
“Adam saying that is not going to speed up LeBron’s decision at all, if I know Bron, if anything, it may slow his decision down a little more,” Green said.
What lies ahead for Draymond Green, Warriors
LeBron James has a number of teams pursuing his services, including Draymond Green’s Warriors. He desires to be on a title contender, which has certain squads come to mind. While Golden State is in need of significant improvements, they would be an option for him to consider.
James continues to shine as one of the best players in the league at age 41. Taking part in 60 games throughout the 2025-26 campaign, he averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game. In the playoffs, he produced 23.2 points, 7.3 assists and 6.7 rebounds per contest.
It will certainly be intriguing to see what James decides to do. If he pairs up with Green and Stephen Curry over at Golden State, it will definitely be a star core to keep tabs on next season.
The Warriors ended the 2025-26 campaign with a 37-45 record, sitting at 10th place in the Western Conference standings. Their season ended in the play-in tournament, beating the Los Angeles Clippers before losing to the Phoenix Suns.
