For over a year now, the president has been sporting a nasty looking bruise on the back of his hand, but refusing to give any real explanation to why its there and why it won’t go away.
Trump, who turned 80 in June, has repeatedly bragged about his health, stating that it is “perfect” and insisting that he not only undergoes all of the required medical tests, but actually requests additional ones, as a way to prove himself.
"I just finished a perfect physical at Walter Reed [National Military Medical Centre], I do it every six months, and I requested another Cognitive Test, the only President to do so, three times, and I aced them all," Trump said earlier this month.

However, the constant reassurance about his competency is doing little to quell concerns amongst the public, who are unconvinced that Trump is as healthy as he claims. One glaring sign that people can’t seem to get over is the large bruise, which reappeared in photos on Wednesday.
Zooming up on a picture of Trump standing outside Air Force One, journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on X, “Oh my god -- Trump's hand is looking *awful* today.”
The picture laid bare the White House’s clear cover up, as the president’s hand was visibly caked in thick makeup, in an apparent attempt to cover a patch of discoloration.
“It’s enough with the cover up,” one X user wrote. “The American people need to know what’s going on with him.”
Another added, “This stuff with his hand has been going on so long and the White House chooses to either ignore it or lie about it so frankly I could give a crap about it. He needs to retire.”
Calls for Trump to step down have been getting louder recently, and his age is not the only reason the public are using. Last week, Trump addressed the nation in a speech that centered around election fraud, and pointed the finger at China for allegedly interfering with the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden.
California Governor and long-time Trump critic Gavin Newsom called for the president’s immediate removal from office following the speech.
“This is a 25th Amendment moment,” he wrote on X. “I just watched the ramblings of a mad king and what else can I say — the only thing missing was tin foil.”
Similarly, Trump’s ongoing war in the Middle East has put his approval ratings at an all-time low. CNN published poll figures on Tuesday, showing that the current Iran war net approval rating stood at minus 40 points - a sharp decline from minus 14 less than four months ago.
Trump has shown no indication that he will heed calls for him to step out of his role, instead doubling down on some of his most controversial policies.
